You deserve everything this country can afford to give you for risking your neck and bravely fighting for your country. I think vets should get even more than they have now. There is no way to fully repay you for your service, but a veterans life is and should be held sacred in America.

With that being said, a soldiers life is not more important than anyone else. We are all equal as human beings under God.

Does it make a veteran feel good to go fight for 'freedom' abroad to defend a country where you will be left to die and rot from cancer if you can't afford it?

Tell the mother of a child with cancer why her son shouldn't have some form of promised health care?

A soldiers #1 job is to protect the people of America.

While enemies abroad threaten American lives, so do things right here at home.

And it's not about who gets what healthcare and why.

The main focus for me is that government healthcare works better than corporate care.

You do have a right to your opinion, but not your own facts.

And yes....unions donate to democrats. They donate lots and lots of money to democrats.

Where do republicans get their money from? At least unions do it out in the open. They don't keep their donations secret from the public like corporations are now allowed to do.

And besides... Would you suggest that unions donate to republicans? The party that is trying to destroy them? Does that make sense to you?

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/05/22/977734/-Wisconsin-RecountSome-Final-Thoughts?via=siderec

This is from dailykos. It covers much of what could/will happen next.

And you are right. This is one of the first elections since the Wisconsin backlash against Walker.

It is not a good way to start off the ass kicking season by not kicking ass.

However, I can not say that we got our asses kicked. That same election night, the liberal democrat won in a landslide in the election for Milwaukee county executive, Walker's old job.

And the margin of difference in the supreme ct. race speaks for itself. No one leaped gracefully to victory.

WI Democrats are recalling 6 WI GOP senators with most all polls showing all 6 with net negative approval.

The WI GOP is recalling 3 Democrats, who are polling net positives. And the GOP recall petitions are being charged with......drumroll....fraud.

Reports of dead signers, people saying they were tricked into signing....

Sounds like something the right thinks ACORN would do...

And Walker is in the gutter. nosedived in the polls.

All in all, I just wish someone polled the supreme ct race. Would have been a good window to compare what happened.

Fair enough. I don't know what happened, but the results get certified today (Monday, May 23). Kloppenburg has 5 days to appeal. If nothing is forthcoming, then I and everyone else MUST assume that all really is kosher in Madison.

There was simply too much money, time, energy, resources, protests, and drum circles spent in WI to just let us "have this one".

You agree?

I agree.

There should be an investigation and the left should not stop bitching until there is one.

If a non-partisain investigation is done and it says there is no proof or evidence of voter fraud, I will shut my mouth on the issue.

The one thing I do know for absolute fact is that Nicholas is not qualified to have the job of county clerk and should step down.

Let's pretend for a minute that she is not involved with Prosser or the republican party and that she is an honest woman just doing her job.....

If she is not a liar, cheat, crook...... then she is an idiot.

I'm not big into name-calling, but if she is being honest, she is one of the biggest morons I have ever heard of in my nearly 30 years of life.

I say this because she made a mistake that is impossible to make, she forgot to save data in a computer program that auto-saves data.

Besides destroying her entire personal computer which she kept state voting data on (This fact disturbs me) there is no way she could have forgot. The program would not have forgot. It's impossible.

Like if I posted this comment. You surely will get it. You read it an accepted it. Then I said I never posted a comment....

You would know for a fact that I was lying because as much as you might want to trust me, you know facts, and you know computers don't lie. The people who use them may, but the computer cannot lie.

I don't cry voter fraud for no reason. If I did, I would have been crying it from the rooftops on Nov. 2 2010.

I would not wait for a little supreme ct. race in Wisconsin to start an attack.

As far as voting is concerned, the GOP won fair and square in 2010.

I bit my lip, swallowed hard, held my head up, and carried on.

I know how to lose. I've done it a lot.

But I also know when something is rotten in Denmark, or in this case...Wisconsin.

Actually, I make a fairly conscientious effort most of the time to keep track of what's going on, and I had heard exactly zip about the developments in Wisconsin. The margin by which Prosser won was about the same as Gore's margin over Bush in the same state in 2000. I don't remember any allegations of a "stolen election" in that instance -- apparently elections are only stolen when Republicans win; who ever heard of voter fraud in big-city Democratic machines? But I'm sure dead people have every right to get up and vote every two years . . . it keeps their joints limber.
Enough needling. What this proves is that there isn't a massive groundswell of popular support for the public employee unions lurking out there. A good deal of support, yes. Enough to overturn the current political status quo, probably not. The next battle will be in Ohio, as the Democrats and the unions try to overturn SB-15 in a referendum in November. Since Ohio is rather more conservative than Wisconsin, and the demise of McCain-Feingold allows allows corporations to counteract the Big Labor Democratic ATM's, I see SB-15 being upheld by a discernible although not overwhelming margin: say, 54%-46%.
Incidentally, I hate the practice of unions pouring their members' dues into the Democratic Party without so much as a notification to their members that they are doing it. And guess what? I've actually BEEN a union member for over 20 years, so I think I at least have a right to my opinion.

If this is the depths that the right has to go to to win elections they were 20 points ahead in before their Governor started a war against workers....

I just hope a democrat does something like Nicholas did.

I want to see the right let bygones be bygones like they are asking us to do after clear and present voter fraud.

If I remember correctly, the right was crying voter fraud when Kloppenburg WON the election....

But do as they say, not as they do!

Good luck in NY26 next week!

Since HotAir is completely fair and non-bias, I'm sure they'll cover it fairly and not blame dems somehow.

It's weird they didn't cover that Jacksonville Mayor race though.. considering how fair they are. It was a huge blow to republicans getting beat in their own back yard...

I'm also sure HotAir will cover the recall elections when dems take the state senate back and when we recall Walker. Fraud will be a little more difficult considering the horrid poll numbers WI GOP are looking at.

Walker worked hard to earn his 30% approval!

I just hope democratic county clerks are ready to go to bat for us like your are for you.

This was supposed to be the Next Big Thing. Everyone on the Left was screaming loud and clear over truly questionable circumstances. A recount was enacted, the recount was concluded.

One blog that regularly denounces the GOP as evil incarnate says we stole it, while Daily Kos, a considerable amount more respectable, says Prosser won.

I guess he won.

I also guess that the silence serves two purposes here:

1. The less folks don't hear the better; attention spans being what they are, everyone's already forgotten.

2. Not coming out and saying clearly that Prosser won allows for the continued patina of guilt and suspicion. Also a helpful (to some) condition.

And if no further action is taken in the courts, that tells me a lot about how much dirt is really (or not) under the surface here. Why was there no investigation? I even said the same thing at the time. There should have been, but it was just not...what?

Worth it?

Relevant?

There to investigate after all?

What happened?!

And yes, Chicken Lady might be over the top of the Good Taste barrier, but she really does remind me of her and it took me several days to bring it back to mind.

And the mayor of Jacksonville, FL is a fairly big thing, and I read about it somewhere (can't remember which or where though), but this was National Story Number 1 until it suddenly became El Silencio Grande.

Why was that?
